Custom Quartz Components: An RFQ Checklist for Faster Engineering Review

A clear request for quotation helps both the buyer and the manufacturer identify technical risks before production. For custom semiconductor quartz components, a part name and overall dimensions are rarely enough to complete a reliable review.

Start with the application. Identify the semiconductor process, equipment module and position of the component. State whether the part is used in thermal processing, deposition, wet processing, gas delivery, chamber support or material handling.

Provide the latest drawing revision when available. Mark critical dimensions, datums, tolerances, sealing surfaces, hole patterns and mating interfaces. If no drawing exists, a sample part, equipment model or reference-part information can help establish the next review step.

Operating conditions should include temperature range, process gases or chemicals, pressure, load, motion envelope and cleaning route. For wafer carriers, add wafer size, batch capacity, slot pitch and orientation. For wet-process tanks, add chemistry, concentration, capacity, circulation and leak requirements.

Finally, define the expected inspection and qualification route. Dimensional reports, visual criteria, cleanliness expectations, packaging and customer-side trial requirements should be discussed before the commercial offer is finalized.

WONIK Semicon uses a drawing- and sample-led review route for custom enquiries. Technical suitability and the final manufacturing scope are confirmed against the customer's actual application information.
